A bit of Our History

Ranges Basketball Club was created by the merger of Kallista and Olinda Clubs, after the two Committes decided they needed to provide teams for children in the Dandenongs which catered for players with widely varying abilities. This was achieved in year 2001.

Currently Ranges has 39 teams playing in the Knox Basketball competition . Our youngest age group is Under 8s, the non-competitive grade, where we have three teams, while our oldest are our Under 23 young men and women.
Ranges players come from townships throughout the Dandenongs, but the majority of our children are students at the Mt Dandenong, Olinda, Sassafras, Ferny Creek, Kallista and The Patch areas.

TRAINING: Each team has a 1 hour training session once a week with the exception of Total Fire Ban days and school holidays when we go into recess.
The Club uses several venues including the Monbulk Secondary College and Upwey High School.

PRESENTATION DAYS:The Club holds a Presentation Day after each Summer and Winter season. Players who compete in finals, and all those playing Under 8s, receive trophies. Awards are also made to mark the 10, 15 and 20 season milestones.
